About Hermle Germany

Hermle Clocks (HUM Uhrenmanufaktur GmbH & Co. KG) was founded in 1922 in the Gosheim, Swabian Alb region of Southern Germany by Franz Hermle & Sons. By 1930, Hermle was leading in manufacturing and cutting-edge operations. Even after the war, Hermle was still producing high standard clocks, along with producing clocks for other companies. The overall focus at the beginning of Hermle’s life was precision, multiple times in their product line they touch on the idea of precision.

Hermle Movements

The fact that Hermle watches enjoy worldwide popularity is due not only to the beautiful design and the excellent workmanship, but first to the unrivalled interior: the mechanical movements for high demands.

Various types of movement are in the portfolio and are distributed worldwide. This ensures that the leading watchmaker quality from Gosheim and Reichenbach can also be found in numerous large watches from other watch manufacturers.

At Hermle Mechanical Movements, all components are manufactured in-house: whether the base plate, drive device and elevator, whether the wheel ingenuation device, the display device, the inhibition or gear control. Because one wheel literally reaches into the other, Hermle Mechanical Movements can rightly claim unmatched precision in all large movements. Production is made with automatic curve revolving machines as well as state-of-the-art CNC machines. Even more important, however, are the qualifications and commitment of the employees. The products of Hermle Mechanical Movements are largely made by hand. Extensive experience, creativity and the virtues of German craftsmanship are, of course, irreplaceable. Many thousands of different individual parts are ready for immediate use in mechanical movements.
